09/22/2017 When I weighed myself five days ago, it showed that I was down 28 pounds, from 402 to 374.  I was really happy with that and was looking forward to dropping the next five pounds to get down to the next digit, the "Sixes".  I had two scales at home, and right after that neither of them would give a consistent reading so I ordered a new scale and weighed myself this morning.  The scale showed 380 (among other numbers - couldn't get a consistent reading). It's amazing how fast the head talk starts totally based on a number on a machine.  Until I stepped on the scale I was feeling great.  Afterward I immediately started in with "just give up" "this is never going to change" "you might as well have a big pizza for supper", etc.  Then as I was driving to work I started thinking "You haven't gone off your eating plan even once in the past month.  Your face doesn't look bloated every morning.  Your clothes are start...
Monday,October 9, 2017 My weight loss has been hovering steady around 30 pounds.  I can't seem to get past it.  My exercise has been pretty much nothing since I tore a hip flexor two months ago.  Other than doing physical therapy in the pool once a week, I haven't been able to go for a walk for months.  I plan to go for at least a short walk after work today to see how it goes. This past weekend we went to Chicago to see Steve Martin and Martin Short at the Chicago Theater.  I looked up online beforehand how wide the seats were so I knew I wouldn't fit in the seat, but fortunately we had one seat on the aisle and we were in the first row of the balcony.  I was able to sit on the front half of the seat but couldn't sit all the way back.  It was OK - certainly not comfortable but it could have been much worse.  At least there weren't people on all sides of me.  I noticed a few other people who couldn't sit back in their seats either.  ...
